PS...Try to keep track of which screws went where. I think I spent about an hour just trying to figure out which screws went where. LOL
Kool, thanks, I guess I'll stick with the original plan, I'll do the downpipe and have XS do the up-pipe. I think it will be worth the 125 they are charging, they guarantee the install for any leaks and do the cel fix for free.

I'll take pics of everything first before they tear it apart. Just to make sure.

What's the mechanical CEL fix btw?

Thanks for your advice again.

You can see what the fix looks like.

I am not too sure on how this fix works, but quite a few people have used this mod. Do a search on NASICO site to find more info on this fix.

If the place that you are going to are installing the uppipe...why not ask them to do the downpipe too?

If you buy the pipes from gruppe-s they come with the resistors. for free. Do the install yourself if you gonna do the down pipe anyways you might as well do the uppipe yourself cause its right there and it will take you about 30min extra after you remove the downpipe. I am highly opposed to going to a shop unless absolutey nessesary. Besides $125 sounds like a lot i got a quote from a shop to install an uppipe for $35 and i still decided it wasnt worth it. Its good to explore the insides of your car.

If you really dont want to do it yourself and you live in so-cal i'll do it for you for much cheaper than any shop.

I am almost in the same situation as GReddy5, I have a helix from gruppes and an invidia dp(bought from grupes also) waiting to go on. But I have seen enough people go through the question of doing it themselves.

The dp shouldnt be an issue, usually simple enough. The uppipe is another story. It is awkard to try and squeeze the uppipe to the right spot without removing crap from your engine. My recommendation, have someone do the uppipe and $35 is an awesome deal. Reason being is the best way to get the uppipe in is to move the engine. This way you can easily get the uppipe where it needs to go. Sure, you can try to wedge into where it supposed to but everyone I know that has done that ends up getting leaks. Now, they have to redo the work (which can happen again) or take it to someone to redo it properly.

Exactly how, I feel, I know my mechanical limits, and if I probably concentrated on putting the up pipe myself I could probably do it, but if end up getting leaks or other things go wrong, I will sure feel like crap not spending that 100 bucks for the install.

If XS or GT Motrsports screws up, they get go back in there and correct it, and most likely have done more that enough installs than any of us here.

For me less downtime and more drive time is the best scenario.

.02 cents

Good point, I usually try to bring that up about taking back the work if it goes a stray. Just hang onto your receipt

I have the helix pipes w/ bungs for the sensors, I know the CEL comes on coz of the missing cats, but what I don't get is the sensors are still installed with the provided bungs on the up and down pipes in pretty much the same locations so why the cel?

If I do end up getting a CEL it does not affect driveability right?

THanks
