has anyone had this problem??
driving home tonite my started getting louder and louder sounded like my header (stock, all piping is stock 2.5rs)came loose, so i pulled over, had to buy a flashlight cause it was dark, tried to see where the noise is coming from. it came from under the driver side. question is: is there a donut, grommet or gasket in between uppipe and header that may have come loose i couldn t see anything loose hopefully in the morning it will be more visible, i drove home, 25 miles, car sounds mean, but i know its not good ,any feedback would be great. thanx

I know which part your talking about its like a dark grey ring that goes around the mid-pipe connecting into your cats right? If it went bad I have like 3 extra ones.

Probably it's just loose. I have a cat back and I didn't put a gasket there. It worked fine but recently the bolt came off and the muffler got loose. I just tighened the bolt and now it's fine.
If you are talking what I'm talking about (the bolt after the cat), check if bolts are tight. The bolt are supposed to be the one with springs i think but I'm using a regular one. I check them once in a while just in case..

so i took my rs to muffler time and was told of federal mandated warranties for all emission systems, called siver star (thousand oaks)they couldnt help me so i called subaru of america, thay said there is 70,000 and 80,000 mile warranties for emission systems and my y- pipe is covered. it not only is leaking from both ends the flange is cracked. dont let the dealer give you run around if this happens, they tried to do it to me. thanx for all feedback.
hey life: thanx for offer but i probably wont be needing that y pipe.
