i was gettin 25mpg coming back yesterday on 5.. that was before I got ticketed for doing 85 with 5 other cars.....

 

good for you! i think that's my second highest. not bad considering i did some semi-twisty road driving some parts.

yup.. they corraled us. I've always done 85mph there (Avenal) and this was the first time a cop actually pulled me over for that. i've gone waaaaay faster than that. This was a BS ticket.

i thought 85 was the minimum speed on hwy 5? people are always going about 90 when i'm driving down to socal (or back up to norcal).

 

85-90 is about average. The cop was telling me (in addition to going faster than the posted limit) that in this 90-100deg heat, my tires could pop..... The RE070s I have are pretty much immune compared to the crap on regular passenger vehicles. I wanted to tell him, "ya maybe if I had RE-92s". At least he didn't notice I had no front license plate.......

I'll just take a BS online driving course, pay the lowered fee and avoid the point for my insurance.
