The Gas Mileage Contest

The price in gas has been fluctuating in the States for quite sometime already. Some people complain about it and some people don't. Some people just don't care and just go on with their regular driving habits as if the gas price is cheap. But what is cheap to you? Is the price of gas expensive enough to keep you from driving as much as you use to? As far as you use to? As aggressive as you use to? Hell, post your best gas mileage here from 9/16/2005 on (so don't use the gas mileage number you used to get). This may keep some of you crazy teenagers who own or will own STi's to drive safer (if you decide to take this challenge at all).

It can be tough to try to accelerate slowly and drive under a slow velocity.

I'll post mine in a bit as I've been trying to drive going below 2750 RPM.
Happy driving!

friendly tip: buy gas late at night or early morning, when the weather is cold the gas tends to be dense, so you get more bang for your buck!

The price of gas doesn't affect how aggressive I drive, but rather, it affects how far I'm willing to drive (i.e. distance). I think twice about whether or not I really need to go up to LA, or if I can wait a couple days to go to the store and do my shopping all at once, etc. I also try to carpool or rideshare if I'm meeting people somewhere.

I was getting 23mpg on the 5 to norcal. i usually get ~20 in the city.
I "slam" the gas pedal at the start, but i quickly work my way to 5th or 6th to save gas.
