Friday the 13th Meet in Torrance…. (4/13/07)
Night of horrors and mischief, where the dead rise and abominations of all sorts come out.
I Dr. Boscostein invite you to the Torrance see my creation.
Made from a pile of these cast off parts:
1982 Subaru BRAT EA81 chassis
1984 EA81 4spd Dual Range Tranny (EA81 Wagon)
1987 EA82 Crossmember w/power steering rack (GL-10 turbo sedan)
1989 5 lug hubs, front and rear (XT6 Full-time 4WD)
1993 EJ22 Ignitor (Legacy Wagon)
1995 EJ18 (Impreza L)
2000 Impreza Seats (Outback Sport)
2001 Front Struts (Legacy Outback)
2002 WRX exhaust (2002 WRX)
2002 5 spoke 16 inch wheels (2002 WRX)
Donations of Tribeca, Forester, STi, 1970’s Subaru, or SVX items, badges, piece of the owners manual that has the car model on it would be appreciated and stored in the engine bay in a box to assimilate everything Subaru has ever built into one vehicle.
Location is the Torrance South Bay meet
190th and Anza at the Starbucks.
I will show the BRAT there at 10:30 or so.

6 day bump
Brandon and Peter came over yesterday and we accomplished a ton. Brakes are hooked up and bled. Exhaust is almost done.
Camber is still screwy but it won't affect the driving.

One day bump
RE rims: it's just a bad camcorder still. those are 2002 WRX rims.
Exhaust welded yesterday. It just needs to be bolted up.
I need to make a pitch stopper to keep the engine from lurching back when I accelerate.
Then I need to go around and make sure all of the bolts are nice and snug
That’s about the extent of the mechanical work.
I am still slightly concerned about the charging system. The last time I ran it, the battery died b/c it was not getting a charge. Been pouring over the manuals to see if I got it right but I have yet to test it.
See you there on Friday night 10:30..

14 hour bump
Took it for a short drive to the bank.
I think I will have to rework the shifter to make it a shorter throw b/c it’s a PITA to get it into reverse. First is also hard.
I really didn’t want to run it too hard b/c I am still shaking things down bit overall
I LOVE THE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the alternator wiring figured out.
The post terminal goes to the positive terminal of the battery
The Thick white wire goes to the BRAT harness.
I took the black red wire and also plumbed it to the positive terminal of the battery and the headlight brightened. I removed the positive terminal and the car stayed running.
Anyways I am taking it to the Torrance Meet on 190th and Anza. I should be there by 10:30 pm.
