Are there any good places to get fresh mochi in SoCal?

I'm willing to drive out a bit, within reason. I'm visiting my uncle and aunt in Houston this weekend, and I'm sure they'd love some.

Only thing I've found is this: http://www.yelp.com/biz/chikara-mochi-inc-gardena

Any other suggestions? (other than pounding it myself )

Yeah, I'll be flying out of LAX, gotta call them to see when they open, since my flight is at noon.

Since it's so close, have you been there?

AHhaha, totally useless for this thread, but this place rocks! I love the little Obachan that makes them all. My kids and wife love the peanut butter and chocolate chip ones. Those aren't even manju! They are more like a Reese's cup.

I typically like the more traditional ones, but they have a coffee one that is SO tasty.
