got my utec tuned at xs engineering. for some reason they gave me the dyno papers and it says that they dynoed my car on 4th gear. aren't they suppose to dyno it on 3rd? does ne 1 know? ne ways my car dynoed at 230 wheel hp on 4th gear.

 

3rd or 4th gear is normal. Just depends on the tuner. 230 is pretty good, what stage are you at 2+? Mods? I just had mine tuned at stage 2+, put down 225 hp, 230 lb/ft.

 

aren't u suppose to get more power on third gear. to my knowledge ur suppose to be getting more power on third than on 4th and more on 2nd and 1st. correct me if im wrong.

intake, uppipe, downpipe, exhaust, utec, colder plugs, fmic.

thats it for performance.

 

I think as long as they know what they are doing you will be fine. XS has a good reputation and I know a couple people that take some pretty high end cars there and swear by their work.

Yes, its usually in 3rd (and maybe 2nd) but maybe they have a better way of tuning the car in 4th? Dunno but I wouldn't worry.

 

second gear wouldnt boost all the way up if you were stock

 

I'm pretty sure mine did, maybe even in first too.

 

First gear definitely won't boost as high as 3rd and 4th, even if you're modded. 2nd usually doesn't either.

 

well my memory must be shotty... too long ago my boost guage borked... Need to get that fixed.

 

heres a new problem guys. i was driving on 4th gear going about 65 mph and shifted to 3rd gear gunned it and got knock. funny thing is i got my car tuned from xs engineering to prevent that. correct me if im wrong but is it because i was driving on the freeway and my egts were high and shot up even higher when i downshifted? should i start using octane booster? if i should then which brand is recommended?
