Question Camcorder in wrx?

This gonna sound stupid. I never have a camcorder, so I want to buy a cheap one for regular use. Here is the stupid part, I want to mount it on my car so that it record what's going on all the time while I am driving. I want to use it as a protection because in case someone hit me (and it's their fault), they can't argue. Also, if I see stupid people doing stupid thing like crossing rail road while the bar is down, I can record their every move and turn them to police... Have anyone of you did something like this to your car before? Heck, I can even use it on canyon run.

I've seen guys mount cameras for track days, so they can check out their skills in action. Something like that?

Ya, something like that, but the mount I seen (I haven't really check them all out) is like a big tripod or use a lot of material (like metal bar) to mount the camcorder. I am not considering those because I don't want the mount stuff to take up space. I think those people mount the camcorder like crazy is because of the speed they drive at the track? I guess they don't want the camcorder to hit their head?

The bar they usually use is the harness bar, which stretches across the back of the seats. It's just a convenient place to mount because the camera sits in the middle of the car facing towards the front. I've also seen suction cup type mounts, and a mount that hooks onto the headrest.

Mount near the clock, like on the dash? Won't that obstruct your driving view? Maybe you can just keep a small disposable camera handy in the car, so that you can just grab it really quick if you need to snap a pic.

I will probably get a small one. Actually, I seem camcorder that has an extension to it where you can film using that extension, so I can mount the extension to near the clock and put the body somewhere else. Well, I don't even know which brand has this and what this feature is called. I guess I have to look at each mfg?

I guess I just have to look at different camcorders. I guess this will be my first mod (if you guy let me call it mod) if I can find a good one with a reasonable price. Damn, I have been going to the meet and now I want to fix up my car like everyone else. I am still planning to go stock. If you guy won't let me be in the meet unless I did something to my car, then I'll buy that pig sticker and put it somewhere, haha.

Ya, I am trying to be cheap and wanna to buy one thing to use for everything. I think the spy camera thing is easier to setup. I'll check it out. Thanks.
