OT: Dumb. Anyone have a Digital8 Camcorder I can borrow?

This is the dumbest thing, but I had one and it moved out with my ex-wife. I have a tape I gotta record for my pops, but I need a D8 camera to do it. I was thinking of buying one, but I want a MiniDV camera for my next camera, not D8. Been looking on CL for a cheap one I could just buy/sell, but no dice.. So.. Anyone have one I can borrow for maybe a week or so? I am not sure what I could do in return, help with wrenching stuff or maybe lend you something of equal value.

Anyway, I know it's a dumb request, but not sure what else to do.

Thanks,

Jacob

That would be awesome, preferable even, however I need to edit some crap out and I would never try to ask someone when/where to pause it. Stupid question: If you dump the entire vid on a DVD, could I later go in there and edit the vid say on a Mac with groovy video editing stuff? If that would work, that would be great. My friend has a great video setup and all that, makes his own DVDs but no D8 camera.

BTW - I totally understand not wanting to let a stranger borrow your camera.. Haha. Thanks for the offer. If there was some way I could do that, that would be hot! I was gonna end up with a crappy VHS tape. DVD would rock.

Oh wow, that's great! Well - if you can help me out, let me know if I can help you out some way. Drop me a PM, let me know when I could come by. That would be fantastic!

Mostly I just didn't want to have to bore someone with my vid or the editing of it, which is why I was asking to borrow. Don't wanna inconvenience anyone ya know? Sweet..

Thanks..
