i bought an all region+vcd mp3 dvd player over at that LD/vcd store , hong kong plaza in the corner. i think it's tatung brand, works great.

 

seen it.. i know some better sites. to unlock region on dvd-rom and dvd burner.
and standalone dvd player..

well for example this is the hack for the first dvd player listed

follow the instructions... each dvd player is different

This unit available from Asda is the same as it's US counterpart the ILO DVR04 which is available from Walmart

The region hack is:

Power on the recorder

press SETUP

scroll down to EXIT

press 2 9 6 0

press ENTER

the region code will then appear

scroll sideways onto the region code and the list of all the available regions appears (region free and 1 thro 6)

select the one you want and press ENTER...and thats it

works fine tested with a Lizzie McGuire DVD region 1
