Speechless. That is all there is to it... after even a cold beer I can still hear the ringing in my ears and my hair will never fall forward again. 'Wind Swept' it's a new look here in Southern Oregon!
Thanks to fellow member Kym (SoCal), my tired old **s got to tour the Aerial Atom factory (7 miles from my pad) and ride and DRIVE in one today as well.
Nothing can prepare you for this event. I had raced Formula Ford in my 'twenty-something' days... but I had forgot just what an open wheeled car can do! It is much different on a closed course with a bunch of other guys running the same speeds. Try it without a helmet and when you are slamming into corners at mind numbing speed (thanks to Tom from Atom, I think he knows this road) with campers and wagons packed for camping with everyone and I do mean EVERYONE staring at you like you missed a turn for the F1 race.
Nick was there to finish up some details on his recently ordered car (I was lucky enough to join up with him and the rest of the crew). Nick summed it up best when he simply said ~ "When I passed a couple of slower cars I looked in my mirror and even though I was at the end of the straight, they were still right where I overtook them!"
Mirrors should be an option. NOBODY is anywhere near you trust me, on two wheels OR four.
Mind you we drove the 205 hp model (there is also a 230 and 300!). The induction noise is insane next to your head and as we found out, grasshoppers hurt at triple digit speeds. 3rd gear can pull from 2K right to the 117 mph rev limiter!
So Kym... thank you sooooo much for the call and the chance to hook up with some fellow I-Clubers! You rock girl!!!

I need a day or two to recooperate, but I'll have pictures up shortly.

Glad you had fun, Michael.

Nick's build is tentatively a 230, which is a good choice, in my opinion. An upgrade in the future will only consist of a pulley and some tuning.
