Anyone with a Mechanical Engineering degree?

My major at UCR is Mechanical Engineering, and right now is about the time to start thinking about what field i want to get into. Anyone here on I-Club have a mechanical engineering degree? What are you doing with it?

I have a BS in ME. I do energy analysis for refrigeration systems. We promote energy efficiency in refrigeration system design so I'm happy w/ what I do. It's in the hvac&r insdustry. It's a pretty big industry, and a lot of it is hvac design in new buildings. My work is only in refrigeration, which is not very common.

I've got one of those BSME thingies too. ME is pretty wide open so it just depends on your interests. I ended up going into construction management because there weren't many engineering jobs when I graduated (1993). I really like the variety that comes with this job. I work for a large mechanical contractor so I'm still somewhat near my roots. We install HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems into new and existing buildings for a variety of industries, including medical, biotech, semiconductor, petrochemical, and universities.
