Help! Mechanical Oil Pressure and Mechanical H2O Gauges

Anyone have any knowledge or experience installing mechanical oil pressure and mechanical H2O temp gauges?

I'm thinking about installing these 2 gauges. Both are mechanical and made by Auto Meter. I'm not really interested in install instructions for electronic gauges, just mechanical. I did a search on scoobymods, but only saw the instructions for electronic gauges.

Anyone have any tips/hints? Are there special adapters I can buy to make the installation easier (special taps or adapters)? My car is a '03 WRX. TIA!

may i ask why you purchased mechanical instead of electrical?

is it pricing?

Yes, I can get a good deal on the new gauge set I'm thinking about buying. If the gauges turn out to be too costly, I'll probably just start saving for AccessPort instead. My preference is to have the gauges first, though.

I thought mechanical gauges were pretty common. Maybe, I'm mistaken...
