Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

trying to figure something out (uppipe swap)

i have an '05 wrx and am planning to install an sti uppipe. the sti piece doesn't have a hole for the egt sensor
what do i do with the egt sensor? (i.e. let it hang, unplug it, tap a hole for it, etc?)

also, as far as i understand the o2 sensor is not on the actual pipe, but somewhere else, in all the pic i've seen i can't figure out where (i just want to know before i go tearing apart the car)

help is much appreciated

Some of the STi up pipes have bungs and some don't. Just ask whoever you're buying it from wether it has one or not. I personally prefer to have the O2 sensor plugged in, rather than a cel fix. It's a good idea to use some sort of thread lock on the O2 sensor when you reintsall...

you take out the sensor all together and show a 2.2k @ 1/4w resistor across the harness.

an egt sensor is what is in the wrx uppipe has. and the sti catless uppipe that you are planning to put on does not have a provision for an egt probe. just put in the resistor that mmboost suggested and you'll be fine running without the egt sensor in place.
