whats the deal with the gas gauge??
for the 1st half of the tank it makes it seem like im geting great gas milage and the needle moves really slowly, but then after it hits the halfway mark, it seems as if its moving down a LOT faster...why is it like that?
My first WRX, the light came on right when the arrow touched the top of the E. The new on, idiot light comes on when the arrow is about 1mm above the E. Got! to love consistency.

oh yea. and you have to consider driving style. i bet the figures from the factory were taken at modest speeds like 65 mph. but i'm sure most people here drive 80 or 90 on the freeway.

Pretty much all gauges in your combination meter are not linear. I don't even call them "non-linear" gauges. I call them "idiot gauges".
Basically they are indicators to tell you that you're already screwed. The are not accurrate (why do you the fuel and temp gauges have no #s on them
)

also you guys need to take into account that, i'm assuming, you guys don't drive until your car is completely empty. that's when you will see much more accurately how many MPG's you're getting. of course teh first half seems to last longer, partly because you don't wait for the second half to reach the end..
this could be a factor...

I get gas every Tuesday, I make a tank last a week normally. On Saturday its at the half way point then Tuesday morning its almost empty. I think its just the way it reads it. i never let the light go on for fear that it means there is only fumes left.
