Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Installing a higher pressure cap on an otherwise stock cooling system is a bad idea. The increased pressure makes it more likely to have leaks, especially from the radiator which is prone to leaking anyway with the stock cap. On a street car without serious mods you won't see any gains from this and may end up with expensive problems.
A high pressure cap is best reserved for part of a total cooling system upgrade which would include an upgraded radiator with metal tanks that can easily hold the additional pressure.

Thats good to know. Looks like I can scratch that off of my list, thanks. What about a thermostat? Would that help the car in any way or would that screw something u too?

A lower-temp thermostat also isn't a good idea with a stock ECU. The ECU is mapped for a specific range of temperatures and expects the engine to reach a certain operating temperature to be considered fully warmed up.

The cooling system is designed to do two things:

Make sure the engine heats up to a certain temperature to ensure clearences are tight, oil lubricates properly, fuel atomizes, combustion is efficient, and emmissions stay low.

Second it is there to make sure it doesnt get to far past that point.

Theres no power to be had here other than the extremes like electric water pumps etc, which for the record, YOU DONT WANT ON A STREET CAR. Trust me, I'll link a big thread about some guys expereience with them if you want to know just how little you want one. So unless it's failing to do two of it's jobs, IE allow the engine to heat up and maintain that temperature, or you dont like plastic radiators, leave er alone.

Durability related items, or stuff you do as you add mods and start racing heavily such as aluminum rads etc etc dont factor of course, as at that point, you're starting to compromise job number 2.
