Question Need Cat Back Exhaust suggestion

Just recently bought a WRX and I'm looking to purchase a cat back exhaust as well as an up pipe but I'm unsure as what to get. I want to get something that will pass smog and without any problems (gotta love CA). What suggestions do u guys have? (Apex'i HKS)

I suggest trying a search and looking in the review section, you should find a lot of info there. As for a suggestion for a stealthy look (in regards to sound) stromung and the borla hush system are nice. I have the borla hush on my car and really like it. I've also seen and heard the EVO 2 cat back. It sounds nice but it has a big tip on it.

Maybe try Stomung cat-back and a Helix up pipe... gonna use the stock downpipe I guess? I think this setup should pass smog.

Thanks for suggestion guys! I like the stealthy look of the borla hush exhaust...might go with that one. As far as up / down pipes, which one would yield more gains but be able to pass both smog tests (performance/visual)?

Helix makes a catted downpipe now that performs well without violating emissions when used with the stock or an aftermarket catback.

An aftermarket uppipe is rarely noticed during a smog check.

Any aftermarket catted DP may pass a sniffer test, but they won't pass visual.

the aftermarket ones have only one cat, whereas the stock one has two.

here's something, buy a catted aftermarket DP and weld on a cat heat shield, on the bottom of the piping, for looks, where the other stock cat was? (this doesn't apply to stromung)

A downpipe/uppipe combo will be far more beneficial than a catback FYI

Although being in cali you have smog to contend with.
