DIY section

A DIY Section would really be very convenient so we scooby owners can learn to do mods ourselves

oh yeah ur right. i forgot about that. but theres still something missing. i wanna learn how to hard wire a radar detector and relocate the park light switch. ive search but no luck

That can only be done if you have a kit that is made for that specifically. Kits like that have 2 or more remote sensors that are to be placed at the front and rear of the car, then are wired to a actual detector that would alert you when it get a reading

He could also be talking of just hardwire the radar for the power source too.

I think James from RS25.com did that with his. He (if it was him) clipped the unit to his visor and spliced the wires into the moonroof leads.

I did this with a Whisler radar detector. Have the sensor in the scoop and lazer sensor in the rear window and the display in the change holder. i wired to a power source under the dash, i also wired by shift light to it. the only thing you have to remember is to swich off the detector when the car is not on. It wont kill the battery in a night but after a couple of days being out of town you will come back to a dead battery. Just find a wire that has power that is under the dash.

I think even though there is one at another a DIY at another site we should still have our own forum for i-club DIY guys/gals to talk about doing things yourself.
