I has new car. :-)
So...I pulled the trigger...
I went ahead and bought an already modded car, decent deal I suppose, as long as it holds together. :P
If you frequent legacygt.com you will have seen it floating around there...
It currently has a PE1820, FMIC, (and supporting mods), and the lag is...ok. However I would prefer to get something a bit more responsive. It currently makes a conservative (So, I'm told) 300 whp. I would like to be on a better tune and maybe run a 18G TD05H, or something of the sort that would spool much quicker....any personal experience suggestions regarding a turbo setup? Also I was considering going with a TMIC, I don't need the extra attention of the FMIC or the lag it brings.
2005 Legacy GT
Engine/transmission (installed by FIA Motorsports):
Brand new 2007 STI block
PE 1820 turbo (new with block)
Custom front mount intercooler (made by TDC Tuning)
Perrin big MAF intake
APS turbo inlet hose
Helix 860cc injectors
TGV deletes
Full 3” custom turboback exhaust with cat
Exedy clutch and lightweight flywheel
Kartboy short-throw shifter
Tuned with Cobb Accessport
Suspension (installed by LIC Motorsports):
GP Motor fully adjustable coilovers, height and dampening
Cusco front/rear swaybars
225/40/18 Falken Azenis on 18x8” Krimson K2 rims (rims not readily available in U.S.)
Also included are the 4 stock tires (Potenza RE92’s) and 17” rims.
Electronics/other (installed by local car audio company in Reno, NV):
Memphis 12” subwoofer with custom linoleum box in trunk
Memphis front speakers
Memphis amps
Prestige alarm system with 2-way remote
Hardwired for Valentine 1 radar detector
Boost and EGT gauges, custom install in "cubby" above stereo, match stock gauges

omg i LOVE IT.......very nice
as far as the turbo is concerned, i had a td05h 18g 7cm on my car prior to my 20g and it is VERY responsive...full boost by 3300rpm if i recall, and very jumpy turbo (in that it kicks you back very quickly)...however, with it being 7cm i had TREMENDOUS boost creep issues (catless dp and unported hotside) and up top the turbo was NOWHERE NEAR the power or smoothness of the current 20g setup...if you are not as much into power or smoothness as responsiveness and midrange, you will love said turbo. in my honest opinion, i absolutely LOVE my tdo6h 20g 8cm, its a little laggier than the 18, but it just makes the 18g pale in comparison from any other aspect. good luck with the turbo selection, and once again, NICE CAR CONGRATS

I didn't get a dyno yet...I have to pick it up still. lol. I am out of town right now, but next week I'll be getting it....and then I have to wait until I have some money to bother dynoing, but I will be taking it to Paul anyhow. I don't really care what the numbers say...I just want fun to drive, reliability, and half-way Ok mileage....with that said though I would like to maintain the 300 whp that it dynoed with before, but improve driveability, and maybe improve mileage a tad...if possible. Obviously this car isn't all about the mileage, but I want to get better than my old truck did.
