Just heard that too, that's too scary. We have to assume people are stupid, just because they are, in essence that bridge has to be more explanatory, that's absolutely a suckness death =\

that sucks. I didn't even notice that curve too much, it didn't look as dangerous for a car. AWD ftw! but how was it before and why did they put a curve there?

I think everyone has become so conditioned to the bridge and glazes over when they are driving. Im not surprised there have been 42(?!?!?) incidences on the bridge since they put in the "s curve".

People dont really pay attention, especially when its something they thing they are familiar with.

Before it had a slight bend instead of the curve. Over labor day weekend they moved part of the bridge, so they can later connect the new bridge. The "S" is a temporary installment until the bridge is done.

People are used to just taking the normal bend, but you do have to slowdown a little now when going through the "s". The usual reason that you need to slow down is because someone slams on their brakes in front of you. This could be the case with the truck driver. He could of attempted to avoid an accident, not expecting to fall of the bridge.

It didn't help that a motorcycle got hit in the left lane while the right lane was closed. They had to temporarily close the far left lane as well.

Crazyiness in da bay this morning.

I drive trucks for UPS, and if you don't know about that s-curve and slow down, it will flip you or send you out of your lane in a hurry....crazy stuff

I haven't driven on it since the rebuild, but what kind of signs are there before the S-curve?? There should be those yellow lights or something..or add those embossed slots on the pavement like they do on freeway emergecy lanes to really make the driver aware.
It amazes when i am driving on the bridge and people doing 70+ zipping by..

It's an S-Curve, not the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. What is the matter with people? Why were they given drivers licenses to begin with? If you can't /don't know how to take this simple stretch of road at a reasonable speed, stay the hell at home.
