I usually wipe the seat down with toilet paper before going. I really don't like the feeling of paper on my ***, so I prefer not to use a seat gasket.

Dry docking is also a good way to eliminate splash.

Water supply off. flush flush flush. fill 'er up.

I also usually pre-flush, then flush again just as the log drops to minimize splash.
