Dude, it's all about who you know. Find someone that you know that can recommend you and would be willing to bring your resume straight to the boss, then hope that you get an interview and don't screw up.

I've heard of that before. I think its 3 things. 1) they can mold people into what they want. 2) you might get bored and quit and 3) you can demand more money than a noob

I have one that's worse.
"You have made it through several rounds of interviews. We REALLY want you on board... but you came in second... to someone else. You were REALLY, close, though."
I got that 3 times before I got this job... it's almost better not to know.
