I ride a dual sport bike - an '02 KLR650:
Here's one of my favorite rides & why I like my dual sport vs any other bike dedicated to either street or dirt: http://www.flickr.com/photos/we3poll...7607977422870/
On the road, I ride pretty conservatively, so if you're looking for someone to ride with and not be trying to keep up with, I'm down. I also ride with the Gold Country Dual Sport Riders, which is a group started a few years ago to bring a bunch of us from the Sac and surrounding areas together for monthly rides and other periodic rides whenever someone wants to post up and get a few riders together. I'm sure there are guys in our group who also ride street bikes in addition to their dual sport bikes, and most of them ride pretty conservatively and emphasize safety, so they're a good group to learn from.
Also, if you're looking for a new helmet, the best prices I've found anywhere online or locally is the Helmet Source in Rocklin. They also give a discount for buying in the store rather than online, and it saves you the shipping cost, plus you can check out the other gear they have there.

He's the first rider 12 seconds in on the silver R1200GS Adv. I'm right behind.
It was a mix of two cycle clubs. River City Beemers and Sacramento Crotch Rockets.
The show is done by some of the same people as The Deadliest Catch.
Back on topic now.

and here it is when I changed to white halfway thru the year:
And this is my DRZ400-SM, the funnest bike evaarrr! (now it has a big black tank to match tho... this is an older pic)
P.S: The white 600RR is for sale right now, if anyone is interested, LMK.

Awesome, thanx for all the offer to ride I'll definitely take you up on that Raliwgn.
And those are some sweet bikes everyone else has. Looks like I'm going to be riding the slowest bike out of all of you. Not that I care, its plenty of power for me
