Who here rides?
#16
Thanx for your advice/input everyone. I'm glad we have a fairly large group of riders in the Sacramento area that I'll probably pester with many questions in the months to come
I definitely don't plan on doing ANY stunting or fast riding pretty much ever. When I have the need for speed I just get in the miata, its got enough power to melt the rears in the lower 3 gears. This thing will be for commuting and maybe taking a scenic ride or two every now and then.
Ryan: I almost got a 00 Ducati 750SS last week, but the guy was an a-hole, the bike was dinged/beat all around, and he didn't even want to go down 200 bux.
The previous owner gave me a TON of stuff with this bike, a helmet, a brand new riding jacket, gloves, oil and 2 filters, chain lube, and tons of other stuff. MORE IMPORTANTLY he gave me all his books and pamphlets on all the courses he took and all that stuff. So I'll be reading it all, hopefully passing my permit test in a week or so, and then scheduling a weekend riding course

Unfortunately I have been carefully considering this for some time now. I can't imagine not having a bike in the stable for "those days".
You guys know what I mean too. You wake up, look out the window, smell the morning air, and it all just feels right. See, now I don't want to sell rofl.
I could really use the extra money every month from not having the monthly payment on the STi, whereas I own the bike outright. I don't know.
I suppose if someone ever makes an offer that matches what I feel the bike is worth, I would sell it.

I was going through the whole home loan thing and having the STI payed off helped so it was the right move for me. I can't wait to pick up another one down the road though

Permit test is so easy. I was bored at work one day and decided to take the permit test at DMV just for the hell of it cause Adam said it was easy. lol I got 100% the first try. You should schedule the riding course now. When I signed up there was a 3 month waiting period.

Like "read the book once and go take test" easy
or
"study the book for a few days then take test" easy
I know basic rules and have common sense (or like to think I do lol) so I'm hoping that will help me too

I had never seen the book, Adam said it was easy and I was bored so I decided to drive down the street to Roseville DMV. Test took around 15 minutes. Its all common sense. 100% on the test and two weeks later I picked up my Ducati
