One question I have for Mac Users... Don't you guys like to play games on your PC? Unless you are a DJ for light switch raves or trying to pick up on hot chicks at a coffee house, why would you own a mac? How could you live without stuff like Counter Strike, Half Life, BF 1942 etc?

I can live without CS, Half-Life, etc, because gaming isn't my life. If I was buying a box for games, I would have bought a PC.

The old 'Macs suck, they h aev no gamez!~' **** is getting old.

 

Besides the fact that all of those games are available for Apple , there is more to computers the gaming.

I actually have quite a bit of experience with lots of operating systems and am a Windows Programmer (C# and .NET currently) by trade and a Unix/Linux system programmer by schooling. From my experience picking apart operating systems, OS X is one of the most programatically elegant operating systems I've ever seen. The eyecandy is kind of a resource hog, but underneath is freaking awesome. The UI is also much more intuitive.

But, when it comes down to it, computers are all the same. Just quit your *****ing, sack up and use the damn machine. In my experience, anyone who complains about one platform over another doesn't know **** about computers, they only know the one paradigm that they are comfortable with.

 

I could care less about games on a PC. That's why I have PS2 and Xbox. Regardless, this machine is for my mom, and I like the fact that it does everything for her all by itself because it has an operating system that works... and I don't have to work when I go to visit my parents.

I hate all computers.

I am just playing devils advocate anyway, I have no love for PC's, it's just how I make a living. I make about $400 extra a month cleaning spyware off PC's after work, I really don't want people using stuff like Linux, Mac OS or even firefox because it affects my bottom line!

Besides, if I had any loyalty to a computer, it would be to my beloved Amiga 3000T running a Dual line Ami-Express BBS... Strange fact, Sacramento has one of the largest active Amiga communities in the United States...
