OEM filter

The last oil change I did was the first time I used one of thosse bastard white OEM filters. I have a case of them and the batch numbers weren't in the original recall.

My oil pressure still looks normal (7 during warmup, 6 during cruise, .5-1 during idle) <--defi metric numbers.
That's pretty much where my STi sits.

6-6.5 during warmup, 2-5 during cruise (depending on RPM and gear selection), and 1-1.5 during stop sign idles <-- GReddy metric numbers (kg/cm2).

I also have mine in the plug under the TMIC.

I figure my slight pressure drops are due to the oil running out to the cooler and back again.

I was little pissed that you didn't recommend this place to me when I asked for some lodging advice for the Napa area.

Then I clicked the link and looked at the room rates.

I called the Subaru dealer here in Fairfield, and their official response was, "No, the mounting kit part numbers are different." (Yeah, well no **** ********, I could have told ya that!)
Anyhow, I got the pic in an ad Subaru e-mailed me this morning, so I'm not sure if any of you have seen it, but at least in theory would it work?
I do not believe that it does. There is a guy up in Reno that used to have a license plate mount on his 04'. When he put it on the new 06' it was too wide. He bent back the sides to work a little better, but the 06' front frame area is differant (narrower) shaped than the 04-05.

I just remembered that I overrevved a couple of weeks ago. maybe that led to an oil starved bearing that is now mad at me. Trying to get at the crank is when a boxer engine sucks.

Oil level looks fine. So I don't suspect the flter of leaking.

I was engine braking a little too aggressivley. I think it got somewhere between 7500 and 7750. Damn quiet exhuast didn't help. I saw the shift light flashing and I thought 'woops' but didn't clutch in. I just let it come down to an acceptable level.
