So I find their proprietary filesystem check and run it with a "no-modify" option. With standard fsck, you can run the check without unmounting the filesystem. It would appear as though this proprietary version doesn't allow that, and if that's true, that means I have to unmount the filesystem, which means we have to bring down the entire application.

Luckily it's a test box so we won't take an outage but it still sucks *****.
And now I get to go do failover testing on the production side of this app!! YAYAYAYAY!!
