tonight sucked

So when I was driving to work this morning I was thinking "I need to change my oil, I should do that after work since I'm driving up to Sonoma tomorrow....I'll get oil at autozone after work on my way home."

skip forward to Autozone: I get all the oil I need (got the filter from Subaru) and I'm standing there waiting to be rung up and I notice they have optima batteries and I say to myself "self, I need a new battery since mine doesn't hold a charge very well. Eh, they are all the way over there, and I don't want to walk that far. I'll just give mine a charge tonight so its all charged up for Sonoma and then I'll get a new one in a few weeks."

Skip forward to after oil change: I then wanted to check my tire pressure but I couldn't find my gauge so I decided to go to 7-11 and use their pump and whatnot. This should have been a 10ish minute trip. I get there, and of course its dark so I cant read the gauge thing. Then I remember the Texaco closer to town has a nice pump where you just dial in the psi and it fills it to the right amount. I go there and its broken. So I figure I'll go to the shell a minute away. I get to shell and get the tires filled and I left my lights on so I could see, hell, it only took like 3 minutes to check and fill the tires. I get back in my car when I'm done and turn the key....."err err err err err err err err" followed by a "FUUUUUCK" and so I'm sitting there staring at the *** of this semi-hot chick vacuuming her car next to me thinking of what to do. So I call my friend but hes at work and has no cables in his car. So I run inside the gas station, they have no cables. I come back out, call another friend who doesnt pick up. Call my friend Joey again, he said he'd call his parents (few minutes away) and see if they were home. I tell him to take his time cause I have a hot chick to creepily stare at.

So my friend calls me back.....his parents aren't home. By this time the chick was done vacuuming her car and my friend is babbling about something and I'm like "yeah, whatever, hold on" and I get out of my car and go "ma'am, you don't happen to have any jumper cables, do you?" and I can hear my friend on the phone "IS IT THE HOT CHICK??!!" and I tell him to shut up. The girl is like "well, its not my car, where would they be?" so I tell her in the back somewhere (it was a nissan extera, I knew there had to be some in there somewhere) so I said to look for an emergency kit and the whole time my friend is screaming asking if it was the hot chick and was like "did she steal the car? why isnt it hers? is it the hot chick!!??" so I finally hang up on him.

We get the cars positioned so I can try to jump my car and I put the cables on the nissan while she says its her "man-panion's" car and he let her take it to get a christmas tree and how he was mad cause she put the tree in the car so since its not my car, not her car, not anyones car I know, I dont want to scratch up all the paint in the engine bay so I don't dig the negative cable onto the metal too deeply (I actually couldnt remember which car you attatch it to the metal for, so I id every possible combo) but it didnt work. At this point I'm pissed off and embarrassed cause my cool little car is crapping out infront of a hot chick

Finally I'm just like "**** it, I need a new battery" and she offers to give me a ride to Kragens which is across the intersection and down a little bit, but still a long walk in the cold and I'm like "nooo, don't be silly, I'll make it" (yeah, I refused a ride from a hot chick....I dont know why). So I walk to Kragens, get the battery, and right as I pick it up realize why I should have gotten a ride....heavy S.O.B. it was. I get back to my car, put it down on the ground, and remember I have no tools to disconnect the battery!!!! Of course shell only had a crappy pair of pliers and the hot chick was long gone. So I got to walk a few blocks in the freezing cold to go wait at my buddy's work untill he gets off and we can go get tools and I an put in the battery.

Long story short: buy a battery BEFORE you need it. Carry around tools. Dont refuse rides from hot chicks.

You know, if your car was a stick-shift, all you would have had to do is give it a push, pop the clutch with the shifter in third, and cruise on back home.

In that case, I suggest you ask someone for the Severe Weather Companion emergency kit from Subaru for Christmas. It's got jumper cables... and a folding shovel!

Take back the Duralast and scream at them "IT AIN'T A OPTIMA MOTHA****AS!!!" and slam the door on your way out, that'll work, I'm sure of it.

that works when I need a tool or size/length socket I don't have. I get it, use it, put back on the black tag, return in

I've got the kit in my trunk, and a fire extinguisher. A roll of paper towels is good to have, as well.

add more stuff to my list

and the socket was actually because I broke my ratchet doing the brakes and so I went to get another ratchet and had the feeling the one I got was a different drive size than my sockets so I got the socket I needed and then returned both later and got the right size ratchet
