Waiting for test results
Waiting for medical test results of a loved one has to be the worst thing. It didn't even phase me when I’ve been tested for HIV and such.
3yr old nephew got tested this afternoon for Cystic Fibrosis. Survival rate is about 50% if you're his age and chances of a long life are dramatically decreased.
The research I’ve done on the illness tells me the chances are next to nothing. Mainly because the mother and father BOTH have to have the defective gene to pass it to a child. They can either pass it as a carrier or as someone with the illness (which they don't have).
Then you have to consider the fact this had to happen on back a ways in the family tree with every person being a carrier instead of having CF (which nobody has had).
But there's that side of me that's very scared. I'm practically his son. Have about 2hrs left till the results are given. This sucks.
Not a religious person but keep him in your thoughts if you are. Thanks

This pretty much narrows it down to an acute infection in his lung or maybe he sucked in a foreign object like a twig or a small piece of plastic.
Worst case they put him on antibiotics after they take a sample with fiber optics. Simple procedure compared to CF by any means.
