Try to beat this...

8 windshields in 5 1/2 years on accross 4 cars. Damn, my average is 2 per car and almost 1 1/2 per year. The 8th happened just last night and it is already a 20in crack.

I am not sure what sort bad luck lures little stones onto my windshield(s)...

If anybody got me beat, that will be the first time I welcome the sound of defeat.

4 years 7 cars... 0 windshields, 1 rock chip that was fixed for free.. Unless you count the windshield on my GTI that was completely Shattered, but I technically didn't own the car after that....

1 new windshield for each of the 3 cars I've owned in the last 10 years. All of them getting cracked within the first year of ownership. I have yet to fix the one on the Subaru. I'm waiting until all of the rain stops.

I think I have you beat. I have owned 7 cars in the last 5 years. Here is my windshield score: STi (0), Xterra (1), Lightning (1), Jeep (3), 4Runner (1), Civic (1), Mustang (2). My theory is that it has nothing to do with luck. The fact that I drive a ton (25-30K per year), combined with flat windshields being exposed to a lot of construction and shoddily repaved roads = happy glass company, unhappy insurance company. My repairs have gotten fewer since I started moving over a lane or 2 when I'm near a big rig and passing them quickly. I've definitely gotten a little paranoid. I think my cars are magnetized or something... The second windshield in my Jeep only lasted 5 days. My wife gets nervous when I drive her Explorer and gets annoyed when I find another rock. My insurance company hates me LOL.

Same here... Actually, I pass not only big rigs because of little rock chips but also medium to large pickups since one never knows what can fall off of those. That happened to me too - I almost got killed.

I might have won this contest but I would have to fix it when it cracks the first time.
