and you are probably right about prisons in the southern states but prisons in "blue" states are more like country clubs than punishment... I see ridiculous stories like the sex change op. come out of california prisons pretty regularly
on the news. That one sherrif in NM is hilarious making them sleep outside in 105 heat in their pink underwear.

On the Pot note, there is no way it is addicting unless you let it be. I did it for the better part of 15 years straight and just quit one day when I decided it was not helping me get anywhere, no after-effects or anything. I did however see that my memory got better and I wasa able to study better and more.
I do have a friend who still smokes like a banshee to this day and he is the smartest guy I know, when it comes to computers and computer networks. I think he does it to settle himself down because otherwise he would be to damn smart for his own good.

In other words, if you take the ODs and drunk driving out of that statistic, how many deaths are really attributable to alcohol as it is legally allowed to be consumed? My point is, you're using deaths caused by illegal alcohol consumption as an argument that other drugs should be legal too.

I never have. Personally it makes me a lot less prone to violence versus when i drink i feel like fighting anyone. Oh and what about drownings??
