Theoretical Thursday

Nerding out and reading articles on arXiv while looking at APODs (on mirrors thanks to the shutdown).

Came across this cool gif:

Went and saw Gravity last night and it re-ignited the flame, so to speak.

Gravity was .. entertaining. Intense, but entertaining. 90 minutes of holding your breath. The physics was surprisingly accurate except for two instances, at least that I caught, and the whole sequence with the fire extinguisher seemed to reach a little, but made up for it with a subtly towards the end I don't think many people would catch. Sandy did a pretty good job. I wanted to see it in 3D, but the glasses make Nicole nauseated so we did just the regular display. However, after seeing it, she was willing to go see it in 3D.

I could be down to go see Rush maybe Sunday evening?

Looking forward to seeing Gravity, sounds like a interesting movie.

I was thinking Friday night or anytime on Saturday. Sunday evening wouldn't work since that's when I am watching Gravity.

Honestly just depends. Might be going through some changes right now that require a tight budget.

It doesn't detract from the overall good-ness of the movie.
