My concern with a thermostat is how is the engine going to handle the extra 800ml of oil that won't be flowing to the cooler when the tstat is closed? How do you get any oil trapped in the cooler and lines out if the tstat is closed when you do any oil change? Is there the possibility of air bubbles or pressure problems once the tstat opens? I've been researching inline and sandwhich type tstats like these: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/mocal.htm and those are the questions I came up with.

I just looked at a Mocal sandwhich adaptor I have here, it would seem that the thermostat only inhibits flow to the cooler so there should be no trapped oil.

Valid points and certainly ones I would expect Mocal to have a decent answer too, my take on it is that 800ml of oil is not that much based on the theory that it should not have to deal with the extra oil for too long (only as long as it take to reach 180c) as far as air I would imagine seeing as the system would be pressurized any if any air would be dealt with by the breathers. This is only my take on it and could be a little/way off

You can always do what I did, Mike.
Goto Home depot and get 1strip of 1"X 1/4" aluminum and make a bracket so they can sit side by side. I used aluminum so I could make new threads with the soft metal without using the bolts for the horns. Once you've made new threads you just unscrew them and hit them with some lock-tite. Mine haven't come loose in over a year.
This may be a good time to paint the faces black because having them sit side by side with the bright red may look a tad dorky depending on your tastes.

It looks like a nice kit, but I wouldn't think of running an oil cooler without steel braided lines. You want as much durability as possible, as well as positive sealing to ensure that you're not losing precious lubricant. But that's just IMHO.
It definately looks damn good next to that HyperFlow FMIC though

I'm interested to see how the hoses get routed.The hoses are 300PSI and flame retardent. They're basically the same stuff we use to run cooling water to to pumps and chambers on $10M+ semiconductor equipment. They should hold up.
