i just cought my first glimpse of lightning here in CP...
saw the flash and had time to tell co-workers about sever t-storm warning and then (approx 2-3 mins) in the distance a low rumble of thunder, has to be a ways off but impressive that i saw the lightning.
looks BLACK on the horizon...my office looks west and i can see the ugliness headed this way.

Holy crap! We just got tagged with some lightning.

It must have hit right down the flippin street. The house shook harder than I have ever seen. Power went out for a few minutes and phone / dsl is still out.

Thank heaven for the blackberry.

unplug your computer/lappy/stereo/entertainment system!

my dad's boss had lightning hit a tree next to his house...well it happend to be the tree he had his satelite dish hooked to and it surged the entire house in reverse from the TV.
the electricity basically went backwards thru the dish cable into the TV then from the TV into all his A/V components attached, aslo surged thru the outlet and blew everything on that breaker block in his house before it melted (literally) his breaker in the main box.

needless to say, he got a new setup from his insurance company, but it could have aced any HD that happend to be in that loop...lucily his office was on a seperate circuit.

Storm must have passed Winters, but I did hear the warning on the radio at 4:45. Although they said it's only in affect until 4:15?! Anyway, be safe. Especially you, Deede, maybe u can find a ride?
