The Term "Rice"

I personally think that this term has lost all meaning. Does anyone else think so? Its seems that if there is a mod on a car that someone disagrees with, its automatically rice. The term because grossly over used and to me, its lost all meaning...

Now I thought the original definition was ghetto modified import... but now that american cars have taken the same road, its ghetto modified car. And what I mean by ghetto modified is unpainted body kits, kits that don't even fit the car, kits that don't flow with the car (boxy style car with curvey kit/spoiler), gutted daily drivers, 2 rimz w/ 2 steelies, etc... and ricers are those who think that their cars are hot **** and faster than every other car because they slapped an intake on their car or put on a muffler tip.

I am trying to get outta the habit of saying rice because to me it has no meaning anymore... does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Discuss...

I remember back in the day on nasioc, there was some mod that would go crazy when you used the term rice, and ban you and stuff...I don't think its a big deal, I'm pretty sure it can be applied to anything import related that stands out...I think we all use it on a joking level more than anything else...people in SECCS call me a ricer every day, I like it.

I remember those days. We used to have to use terms like "Uncle Ben" to get around it.

I think rice still has meaning. To me rice is an emphasis on show over go.

You can take a slow car, put decent looking wheels on it and suspension. Not rice.
Take that same slow car, and put on a body kit (a distasteful one), painted or not: rice.

Rice is really interpreted differently by everyone.

So my car = not rice.
My car with a bodykit = rice.

Everything clear?

no.

I think your car with a tasteful body kit would not be rice, because you've got an emphasis on "go" with your suspension mods and engine stuff you've done. Now, had you just dumped the car and some jacked wheels and then did a body kit, yeah you'd be a ricer.

I have been trying to tell some people this same thing not in those exact words (Which gets down to the point) but yeah I know EXACTLY what you mean .. like for instance .. some people say something is rice.. and then bam go out and get something RICEY( lol ) for their car and because THEY have something different in mind as to what RICE is, automatically it changes things ..somewhat of an advantage to them.. Does this make sense???
