Damn software update on DirecTivo box wiped out my LBA48 goodness....again. (required when using a large HD). Looks like a show wrapped around the old school limit and stepped on the kernel. Won't boot. Yay linux.

I'll fix the drive again. I've been waiting to upgrade my infrastructure and now looks like the time to pull the trigger. I just ordered a crapload of hardware. No discounts. No subsidies. No free install.

All DIY. All owned hardware.

-DTV slimline switch so I can get teh two new MPEG4 sats.

-DTV single wire multiswitch so I only need one RG6 per dual tuner box rather than two. This also allows me to keep my OTA and camera RF channels multiplexed into the signal.

-Acutrac Signal strength meter. The new setup is more picky about alignment.

-DTV HR21 Pro DVR. Rackmountable. HDMI over fiber. 500GB HD. But most importantly it's the only tuner available that is not leased. but......... it's not Tivo and that's gonna suck.



Now I can get all of the HD **** they keep adding that I'm paying for but haven't been able to use with my older MPEG2 tuners.

 

So I'm at one of my friend's house in Roseville standing out front of the garage shootin' the breeze w/ him and his bro waiting for a guy to come by and pick up my motorcycle. An ambulance pulls up and asks about some dude that apparently was injured (I'm guessing in an altercation) somehow managed to get away from them in that neighborhood. Description: African-American, light build and wearing........ PJ's
Seconds later a firetruck pulls up... followed by 2 roseville PD units...same thing. As the last one rounds the corner my friend looks over and was like.... "DUDE!!! Are you seein' what I see?!" I look over just in time to see pajama dude duck between a couple houses and hop the fence kady-corner to my friends house across the street, lol. My friend runs down to the street and shouts/waves at the cops who flip a ***** , come flyin' back down the street and hop the fence after the guy. Needless to say lots of excitement for a quiet Roseville neighborhood, lol! We sat there and watched but between all the PD, fire crew and EMT's he somehow must've managed to get away cuz they left empty-handed.

 

So did the guy ever arrive to pick up your motorcycle?

 

Yup. Pretty crazy. I posted it on craigslist and on here and within 24 hours had a buyer. I thought it'd take forever to get it sold. Definitely makes the "between-jobs" money situation a lot less stressful. Hopefully I can land something soon so I can set some of it aside for an AP and tune.
