Ed, do you have a spray bottle for the tires? If not I'll try an pick one up.

Chris has a spray bottle and since you'll be in the same line as us (assuming I haven't worn out my welcome) you can probably use it. We only use it for the intercooler and radiator.

 

Paul, if Chris is running Falkens you'd be well advised to spray down the wheels on a 2 driver car. The Falkens get hot REALLY fast and their performance will deteriorate dramatically (about 1 second) about midway through your runs if they're sending you out immediately after you return as usually happens with 2 driver cars. I discovered this during my last event at the slush series with Lorry. My very last run was technically very very very good. My co-driver (Lorry) and I were quite surprised when I crossed the finish line and I was more than a second slower than my fastest (first) run where I made at least 2 huge mistakes that I estimate would have cost me about .3 seconds each.

The issue is pretty much a non-issue with a single driver as the tires usually have enough time to cool between runs.

Chris is running Michelin Pilots and so far they seem to be able to take the heat. Of course, I'm soooo smooth I hardly heat up the tires anyway At least that's what Chris always complains about at the events...

I ran Falkens on my car w/ a codriver all last season. We didn't really encounter any overheating issues, but that was probably because I was running them on a car that's roughly 600lbs lighter than a WRX...

No, you must be an SCCA member to participate. Once you have your membership (which is $75 if you're over 24 or 25 (otherwise it is less)) each event costs $25 to enter.
