I use my bluetooth headset, woot. Very small RF radiation.

My first Ericsson R300 used to give me headaches after long (10min+) calls.

Lord only knows why I bought a second one ("Oh, now that they are partnered with Sony, their products must be better"). The third was free, but I should have just bought another phone.

EDIT: It was an R300, not a T-28. The R must stand for radiation.

well... the t616 has an aftermarket battery cover (the original is metal and dents upon dropping). the 6200 has much better signal and sounds 100x better.

i'm waiting for the Nokia 6255i to release...

i don't need no stinkin PDA phone, just something small and bluetooth equipt.
reason i'm waiting for the Nokia is because every other type of phone brand i've had has been CRAP!
and i never hear anything to sway me differently.
I've had Sony-Erric but they call reception sux it!
the NEC's ive had were JUNK!
my friend who was a loyal Nokia user, was talked into a Motorola when Cingular took over ATT and he says it's a worthless piece of crap.

the new Sony-Ericcson is nice,

but this one is pricy

or this one:

(one i'm eyeballing...just waiting for it's release)
but i don't know how well it will work...i hate their navigation and logic used for button function!~

I guess Aaron and I should talk then lol. I have had a personal cell phone since they changed from a Brick to a smaller brick. I have had or tried a number of brands. I got all crazy with my BMW and wired a complete nokia in vehicle hands free. I did the install all myself (no surprise to those who know me) and even installed the privacy handset flush mounted in the center console (read: you have never seen something look so stock). My radio was "pre-cell phone mute" dedicated wire so I installed relay to turn the radio off when I received a call and turn it back on when I am finished. I even got hardcore and spit the speaker box in half and flush mounted the speaker into the under dash cover. Oh, I digress with the electrical stuff I added to that car...it was pretty cool.

Nokia has always been a favorite of mine. Their OS is always easy to navigate and they are known for this. In addition they provide some of the loudest ear volume around and always have great reception (even when the antenna is internal, except for their 8200 model which wasn't too bad either).

I can deal with the RF reception of Sony Ericsson because I have been using GSM technology since it's inception in the USA and back then, man it was crap. I know where my phone is going to work and where it is not and I don't have this "expectation" that my phone will work EVERYWHERE like most people. If it doesn't work then the call isn't important enough for me to find service. Sony Ericsson was one of the first to make Bluetooth available on a variety of models. The menus are slow on my phone but not awful. My only complaint on my phone is that it doesn't have a dedicated "back" button so when trying to exit a menu you may end an incoming call while you press "end" repeatedly to exit menu structure. The new Sony phones have solved this and include "back" buttons.

The phone I have hated most is my current work phone (selected for me). It is some LG 1200 and it is the most garbage ever! It has no profiles for the sound settings which is totally dumb. You should be able to set your sound settings for different environments instead of setting the permanent ring volume on the side of the phone (side buttons should only be for temporary changes). The WORST thing about the LG phone is their idea about vibrate. They only allow the phone to vibrate when silent or in the loudest setting and no vibrate in between. Vibrate&ring is not an option. You also cannot set an ascending ring volume.

I also don't like phones that when you set the phone to vibrate and ring it vibrates FIRST and then rings later. This should only be a setting you can choose, not the only option (Samsung does it this way).

Nokia and Ericsson have the best ring and vibrate options and the ability to set profiles specific to your needs. I think this is one of the most important features of a phone. On my ericsson I can even set up call lists of who is allowed to call and who is blocked from calling for a given sound profile. So using this feature I have a call profile that only allows family members to make my phone ring. I use this profile when there is a family emergency and I need to be reached even if I am in a meeting/movie or the likes.

Ok, someone got me started talking about cell phones.........

Eh, I tried!

I wasn't sure you wanted to keep att (cingular). You can always get an unlocked GSM phone if you really want something we don't get here.

Most of the "cool phones" are like 600 bux.

I gotta agree about the bluetooth, that is actually what sold me on the T68i. I really liked that phone, actually, but then AT&T sent me a package giving me a free "upgrade" to the T226. Sure, I got better reception (could access 1 more GSM band), but the features were horrible, and the menu was still slow.

The only phone I've been truly happy with was the Panasonic Allure, but then it fried itself after a year, so I probably won't get another Panasonic (unless of course I get one for free, like my current phone -- thanks skimonkey30).

I don't know what I'm getting next, but it'll probably be Motorolla, since I'm most likely switching to Nextel. I haven't decided yet, mainly because of the coverage issues, but we'll see.
