So who's looking forward to....

SNAKES ON A PLANE!!!

hehe

I've been hearing odd things about this movie. I'm starting to wonder if it's the cheeseball movie it's advertising itself to be.

I'm sure the director of the movie was like:

"Forget the plot people! Focus on the SNAKES!!!"

I was in the theater for a preview. People were laughing and talking SO MUCH **** about that. The most common comment was, "Is that for real?"

I would have loved to watch the think-tank that thought of the movie title when they did. Titles like this have to come from the top with a bunch of “yes men” quietly thinking WTF? as they applaud the idea.

But hey, we're talking about it.... if the movie does turn out to be a decent thriller then the advertising practically writes itself. People will wonder how a movie with such a lame title can be so good and eventually see what the fuss is all about.

But you have to ask yourself this.

1. How did the snakes get on the plane?
2. Why snakes?
3. Why the hell sam jackson decide to do this movie???
4. How will they rid of the all snakes?? Where would they put them??

The movie is about a mafia boss that decides to fill a plane with snakes in order to kill off witnesses to a crime.

I would have chosen chimpanzees or a rhino... something smart that can fling poo or something so massive and strong that cannot fit down the aisle without serious carnage or poking a hole through the fuselage.

You know at some point a giant anaconda will slither it's body around the controls of the aircraft.

Snakes on a Plane sounds like a working title, that most of the time will get replaced by something else (like Flight 200). But, the working title got out, and people were just drawn to it. The studio just had to keep it at that point, and rumors are abound that Sam Jackson demanded that the title stay the same.

Right, but it's the ridiculous idea behind the movie that makes this working title hard to swallow. I think working titles work when they're believeable...

I thought about this too being the fan of Samuel Jackson that I am. My theory is Jackson is one of the few volume actors that's actually successful. A decent amount of good/great movies (Pulp Fiction, Star Wars Series, The Negotiator, ...) and a few incredibly bad and ones that never seem to damage his career (Basic, xXx: State of the Union, etc). Just look at how many movies he has currently in production or haven't been released yet: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000168/ He must have his own private jet. He'll obviously take whatever script comes at him because he's realized how invincible he's become. If one of those nine movies is a hit then people will forget about the bad ones.

EDIT: I think the real question is why is he doing a movie titled "Black Snake Moan"

Well they said that after Sam Jackson read the script, he actually liked it.
Like Nick said, he got mad at the studio for changing the name of the movie to something less cheesy.

Sam, don't fail me now!

It should be noted that his moves have grossed more then any other actor. He passed Harrison Ford a few years back for the title. He's made his share of crap, but he's also been apart of alot of good movies too.

Here's a list of his movies I've seen and what I thought:

*Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) .... Mace Windu - 9/10

*The Incredibles (2004) (voice) .... Lucius Best/Frozone - 10/10

*GTA: San Andreas (2004).... Officer Frank Tenpenny - 10/10

*Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) .... Rufus - 10/10

S.W.A.T. (2003) .... Sgt. Dan 'Hondo' Harrelson - 7/10

Basic (2003) .... West - 6/10

*xXx (2002) .... Agent Augustus Gibbons - 7/10

*Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) .... Mace Windu - 8/10

Changing Lanes (2002) .... Doyle Gipson - 7/10

*The 51st State (2001) .... Elmo McElroy - 8/10
... aka Formula 51 (USA)

Unbreakable (2000) .... Elijah Price - 8/10

Shaft (2000) .... John Shaft - 6/10

*Rules of Engagement (2000) .... Col. Terry L. Childers - 10/10

*Deep Blue Sea (1999) .... Russell Franklin - 7/10

*Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) .... Mace Windu - not going there

*The Negotiator (1998) .... Lt. Danny Roman - 8/10

Out of Sight (1998) (uncredited) .... Hejira Henry - 8/10

Sphere (1998) .... Dr. Harry Adams - 5/10. ***n rubbish

*Jackie Brown (1997) .... Ordell Robbie - 10/10

One Eight Seven (1997) .... Trevor Garfield - 8/10

*The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) .... Mitch Henessey - 9/10

*A Time to Kill (1996) .... Carl Lee Hailey - 9/10

The Great White Hype (1996) .... Rev. Fred Sultan - 6/10

*Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995) .... Zeus Carver - 9/10

*Pulp Fiction (1994) .... Jules Winnfield - 10/10

*True Romance (1993) .... Big Don - 10/10

*Jurassic Park (1993) .... Ray Arnold -10/10

*Menace II Society (1993) .... Tat Lawson -8/10

Amos & Andrew (1993) .... Andrew Sterling - 7/10

*Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) .... Sgt. Wes Luger - for what it was 8/10

Patriot Games (1992) .... Lt. Cmdr. Robby Jackson - 8/10

Jungle Fever (1991) .... Gator Purify - 8/10

*Goodfellas (1990) .... Stacks Edwards - 10/10

*Coming to America (1988) .... Hold-Up Man - 8/10

* = I own a copy of it.
