Exclamation So I got a job.

w00t!!! So after 7 months of being a bum, suckling from the teat of federal assistance, I am now gainfully employed!

UC Davis Med Center, here I come!

This month has been crazy with interviews. It seemed like I was out on interviews almost every single day. I guess everyone got their new budget money. I've gotten probably a dozen calls/emails since Monday. Oct.-Dec. was dead.

Bleh, now I have to cram in a bunch of golf before I go back to work.

The benifits alone is the reason I chose UCD over three other offers.

FULL health, vision, dental coverage for the ENTIRE family.
3 paid weeks off/year starting<-------
1 paid "h" day off per month
PENSION - transferable to the wife when I die
403(b) retirement savings
health coverage after retirement
retirement at 50
educational gobble-dee-gook out the ying-yang

So that's only 18 years until retirement...

best have your kids NOW so you can ship them off and enjoy your retirement (a.k.a. 50 y/o at the track every weekend in a Porshe or BMW track car. ).

Kaiser has been awesome for the wife and me

Since we both have Kaiser through work, we have double coverage and have no co-pay

my coverage alone through Webex covers everything 100% except for a few things. We are not paying 1 cent for the up coming baby, and all the health checkups and shots are covered at no charge for the first 2 years

I have been to Kaiser several times since I have started at Webex and have no complaints at all about the service. There were a few visits before I was able to get into Physical Therapy for my stupid ankle, but that has been about it.

Jens options through UCD for coverage would have cost us about $300 a month (where Kaiser for her is $6) and it only covered about 80% of the charges for most care.

Having a baby with their coverage would have cost us about 2k, where its free with Kaiser
