This is not about my exhaust, just a shop telling me that they cant smog a car until they change the whole exhaust. I though this was nothing new

 

I don't like loud exhausts anyway

But yeah, a modern v8 is so much louder even with stock exhaust that unless you have blast pipes your 4 banger is nowhere near.

Smog shops are run by 90% idiots who not only do not know the laws properly, but tend to operate based on random fears and rumors.

We gripe about them about once a month. Nothing new

Yea, loud exhaust (muffler) has nothing to do with smog (unless your running catless DP).

 

Maybe you shouldn't be going to this shop anymore as they are idiots.....
