There have been laws limiting the volume of exhaust for years. To my knowledge nothing new has come out, and your exhaust is far quieter than stock corvette, Camaro or Mustang V8 optional performance systems.

I doubt your exhaust is that loud compared to a lot of other cars out there. I mean I have a 3" exhaust, so I'd be louder than your car.

STi is plenty loud and never had issues.
