Question review on Tein HR's for GC/F??

looking at a used set of HR's for the OBS.
they're pretty thrashed from NY weather (salt, ice, snow, potholes, etc...)
the collars look like htey'll need some working to get them freed from the threads...
they'll also need a round of fresh bumpstops (which I have), then sandblast the surface rust off the bodies (non on the shafts, just the strut housings & mounting ears) and repaint.
i will most likely have to put in some good ol TLC on these to make them fresh for the wagon.
i know it sounds like a lot of work, but the price reflects that...they're cheap!

my question is how are these...i know that Tein has done away with the HR's for the GC/F (think the whole HR line has been changed to H"?" somethings).

has anyone ran HR's on their cars?
i don't think these are damper adjustable, so i know whatever they ride like is set.
they do have double springs so the initial ride should be softer, but i've heard the HR line rides harder than the current street stuff like Flex, SS & Basic.
I want a stiff suspension (stiffer than standard "street" setups), but i'd also a family car, & don't want to hear about the jigggly ride on long trips if it's flat out aweful...

basically i want to know if it's a good middle of the road leaning towards the track side, rather than more of a track only (harsh & no) or street only (boring & NO)...

any input is welcome...

TIA nikkas!
=P~

I'm not familiar withthe HR's.......are they related to HA's?

If so, them things are stiff as hell......
And you're gonna be a little out of tweak if you carry stuff in the wagon, as you really need a higher rear rate compared to a coupe..

I'd say if they're pretty thrashed, don't bother. It just points more towards possible piston seal wear, which would be no fun. They could very easilly become more hassle than they're worth.
