I remember seeing a pic of a similar setup on some F-body (Firebird, IIRC).
I think the guy said there wasn't much lag or it wasn't noticable, due to the displacement of the motor.

i read the article they had in "Turbo" and i guess the amount of cooling it gets makes up for any loss of pressure

Yeah. The air filter being mounted right by the rear wheels makes perfect sense, too!
This thing remains one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, but is strangely appealing, and supposedly works OK, as long as it's dry out.......

Personally, I wouldn't want to run oil lines all the way back to behind the rear axle. It must have an oil scavenge pump or something.
Oh, yeah, and the possibility of the turbine housing cracking from a water crossing is an added bonus!~

yep. sounds like a great idea... i sure want a nice hot turbine housing next to my gas tank in case i get rear-ended. drive through a puddle with that thing and if it doesn't suck in water and hydrolock your engine, you have to worry about the turbine housing cracking.
what are two biggies when it comes to turbo's? exhaust temperature and exhaust velocity. mount a turbo in the back and you have much lower temperature and velocity.

i want to put one on my 2500hd. they apparently work VERY well, and for large trucks and such it is a great way to add lots of power. from what i have heard on the gm full size truck sites i hang on, it is a pretty cool kit. very well constructed and all the guys who have installed them on their trucks are getting insane hp numbers. it also won an award at SEMA for innovation. better gas milage, easy to install, the list goes on....
crazy enough the distance from the motor actually helps cool the charge. seems kinda far fetched to me, but that is one of the advertised benies.
also, lag is not an issue. my hd is a 6.0l motor. it is pushing alot more air tham even my 2.5l sti's motor. the pressure drop from the header, to say, slightly ehind my transmission in minimal.
anyway, when i have an extra 4k to spend, i very well might get one.
