Jesus. Our helpdesk is ****ing worthless. They assigned a ticket to my group to fix some application. I assigned it back adding comments to the record saying "USA doesn't support this application, user will have to call the vendor for support" and they reassigned it to us saying that it ran on a UNIX server so it was our responsibility. ****ing morons. God damnit.
the Graphire4 just released...
the 4x5 is aroud $85-100
the 6x8 is about $125-150
and the bluetooth 6x8 is almost $200
it has a few quick launch buttons the Graphire3 doesn't and a nicer grip pen/stylus, but basically the same pad...
the G3 4X5 you can get for around $55-$80 now...try ebay or newegg.com
the Intuos has twice the sensitivity and a bunch of programable quicklaunch buttons...
they normally go for $175+ depending on the size...they have ones from 4x5 up to 9x12...much more for photo retouching and graphics stuff...but for the most part the Graphire pads will work just fine for most users...
the reason i like them is the pen/stylus...your hand never really feels fatigued...
it just seems more natural to hold the pen than a mouse...
i never used the mouse until the stylus finally broke...
i've been using Wacom pads since 2000 and i will never use anything else unless forced to.
there are a couple other stylus pad companies out there, but most of them require batteries in the mouse/pen and the pens are heavy...the Wacom is battery-less and the stylus isn't but a hair heavier than a standard Bic pen.
