Kensington MouseWorks is neat and all, but buggy and rarely updated. OS X handles the mouse fine without any extra drivers, but I like the extra features of Mouseworks. Especially the extra feature where if I click before the Mouseworks driver has taken over control of the mouse functions at startup, the buttons no longer work.

What's even funnier is that Kensington's Mac support used to be the best in the business. What a piece of ****.

I hate extraneous mouse drivers and software, period. Windows, *nix, Mac, they all seem buggy and a big memory hog.

But thats just me. I like my mouse for clicking things, not "press me middle button three times to launch iTunes" crap like that.

Hell, the only thing I really use the stupid software for is so that one of my extra buttons activates Exposé and the other pulls up the Dashboard. But what is the point of having a mouse with eleventy-billion buttons if you can't use them for useless tasks?!

Oh, and Kensington has the worst mouse drivers EVAR! I'm getting a damn Logitech, this is bullshxt.
honestly, i have found the Microsoft brand wireless mouse to work really well w/ my iMac...(i know like mixing oil & vinegar...)
every so often it will be sluggish, but its normally cus the receiver has been pushed behind a stack of magazines or shelves...

i normally use a Wacom Graphire pad for most of my artwork stuff and have trouble converting back to a standard "mouse"....but my stylus died and i am yet to buy a new one...so i had the MS wireless mouse at home and brought it in...works great.

oh, and Expose' ROX! i use the hot corners...cus i have used all my multi-function buttons for something else...like switching between tools and layouts..

Just suck it up and get one of these (no drivers required other than the ones built in to Windows):

Agreed.

It must suck to pick up the gun to aim at the screen and then lose mouse control.
