Interdasting. I'm thinking about getting an exhaust I've once had before.

On that 14k engine, what was the failure?

Also, 3500 just seems way low to me.

Thanks Thomas.

And qq: 3500 is what both IAG, Cobb, and Rallispec (among other builders) recommends. My understanding is that you don't want to spin it high until you've cycled out any and all of the metal/contaminants.

Upon close inspection of the drained oil at 50mi, I saw a ton of microscopic metal specs (which is expected, as long as they're not large in size). At this point my only concern is cycling out all contaminants. I'm fairly certain the rings/valves have seated

Love the Prodrive--by far, my favorite out of all of them. It would still be on the car, but needed more flow. Gave serious consideration to hacking the pipe off and having a shop weld a 3" catback with a step into the muffler, but that probably would have changed everything about the sound.

The main bearing was about to fail and was knocking. One half of the main bearing was hammered almost completely into the casing and the other half was practically untouched. Root cause was sloppy machining--the crank line hone was out almost 3mm in some spots.

Granted it's not a built motor, but we did the same for Nicole's car from new and it's solid burning zero oil.

I really enjoy the Q300. But I've been itching for something loud and obnoxious. I think back to when I had the R400. I kinda want that back.

I'm also debating getting a muffler delete done for the Q300. That would be cost effective.

Damn, that's rough.

This seems to be coming up a lot. Are Subarus not supposed to burn oil?

My cars seem to burn/blow-by a lot of oil...
