After someone forgot to put my oil cap back on my old car, I have always changed my own oil. Only crappy part is the plastic plate on the bottom. Removing it takes the most time. My car is low and my belly is not

I disagree. I take my suby off road and I don't want a rock or something taking out my oil filter. I will put mine back on every time.

Hit up Dbtuned for oil changes, and Jeremy for lube jobs.

anyway, they did a decent job, never left a filter or drain plug loose.

i take my truck and my wife's suv to wherever is cheapest at the time.
I worked at a Toyota dealer in the parts department for a few months once We sold 3 engines to people who took their cars to WalMart for oil changes, and WalMart bought them a new motor because they either forgot to fill it or forgot to put the drain plug in. I wouldn't take a car to untrained mechanics who make $7/hr if it was free.

true. Mine still on cuz I drive in the snow so much, but when I come to CA I'll be leaving it off when I change my oil.

That plastic pan is not a skid plate- it won't prevent your filter getting taken out if you're being that dumb about where you drive. It's there for aerodynamics.

i used it to slide over snowbanks in tahoe so it has some uses other than aerodynamics
