My scoob is starting to behave like a DSM.
After the rebuilt tranny was all back together, everything going well.. New clutch breaking in nicely = I was a happy camper...
Then on my way home from work the other day I pull up to a stop light.. After a moment I spot a healthy amount of smoke pouring out of my hood scoop...
S@#T!!!!!!
I whip out my fire extinguisher and jump out to get a look.. Thinking maybe just a wire hanging on the exhaust or something else equally stupid..
Nope.. - Well equally stupid yes..
Nothing major, but the inner CV on the passenger side had torn and slung its nasty grease all over my downpipe, turbo, clean transmission, etc..
Son of a.. Of all the random things.. I even inspected the boots while re-assembling to make sure I wasn't going to have a mess anytime soon.. Only have 40k miles on the car..
Fixed now - but I'm having all kinds of bad flashbacks to my DSM days...
This bucket is supposed to be reliable damnit!!

Meh.. Its no big deal.. Other than the hellacious mess it made.. I spent a solid hour blasting everything down with simplegreen and a pressure washer.. The downpipe is permanently stained now.. Bugs me.. I hate leaks.. I hate cars that have leaks and get stained by said leaks...
