that's like the straight drive from OKC to Bakersfield i did with my friend a couple of years ago. like 21 hours straight driving all the way in my old civic, which was packed up to the roof! AND with a roof rack on top of that!

Tonight we're in Rawlings, WY. We got to drive across a stretch of road that my dad built way back when, when he and my grandfather were Federal Contractors, so that was pretty cool. We lit off a firework in his honor.

haha, MB. I don't mind it so much considering 1. I have a Legacy, and 2. we have an extra ton of weight in the car.
Anyway, today I got to drive down the COOLEST "road" EVER! If any of you have driven down the road, I'm sure you would agree. Yeah, that's right, I drove down the Bonneville Salt Flats... at 110mph.

There was a nice layer of Salt on the car from the front wheels back:

More pictures to come.

Here's a video of my brother pulling the E-brake on the flats, it's almost as good as concrete.

haha, I would have taken a picture, but I'd rather have 2 hands on the wheel and my brother not in front of me trying to take a pic.
But there is WAY more than 10 miles of salt flat, so u can believe it or not.

Thanks, Matt for the compliments. It's an AWESOME time. I recommend going out of the way for fun places like Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Route 66, etc. Just driving 80 can get boring.
Anyway, so we made it home today just before 4pm (7pm EST). We surprised my mom, we told her that we stayed the night in Salt Lake and that we'd be arriving tomorrow, so she was happy about that. The last stretch from Battle Mountain, NV was about 7 hours.
Funny story, so last night before we went to our Hotel, my brother decided he wanted some food. So we went to a gas station, and while he got food, I took my last $5 in cash and played some video poker, lost $2.50, so I got up, and as he paid, I decided I'd play the $.50. The first machine wouldn't take my coins, so I went back to the machine I was playing, popped my quarters in and press "deal". I get dealt a 5 of Clubs, 2 of Clubs, 8, an Ace, and a 4 of Clubs. Because it's my last try, I said "F*** it." and went for the straight. I press draw and the machine starts dropping coins, I'm thinking, "Sweet I got the straight!!!" Then it keeps going, and I say "OH CRAP, I got the straight FLUSH!" I won $75 off 50 cents. So I started the trip with $80 in cash, and finished with $77.00. Thought that was pretty cool. Anyway, for the final set of pictures:

Sorry for all of the pictures, they're from the past two days. Hope you enjoyed my documentation of the trip. I had an awesome time. If you ever have the chance to drive across the country, I HIGHLY reccommend it. Take detours, side roads, country roads, unknown roads, explore, have fun, and allow for extra time. It took us 5 days, and that was with 10-12 hours of driving each day. But it was all well worth it.
